Corona Light Presents: Party at the Park

On Fridays, June 29th, July 6th, and July 13th, Corona Light and Belmont Park will be hosting the biggest parties on Long Island! Kick off your summer weekends with a 3:00 p.m. post time and a party that includes drink specials and great live concerts that happen on our backyard stage after the conclusion of live racing (approximately 7:15 p.m.). Join the celebration at Belmont Park for an afternoon and evening filled with the best in live racing, food, drinks, and music!


 

June29th: ZEBRA

Zebra has been a fixture on the Long Island entertainment scene since they relocated here from New Orleans in 1976.  Their self-titled debut album became the fastest selling record in Atlantic Records history, moving 75,000 copies in the first week.  Zebra has shared the bill in arenas throughout the U.S. with the likes of Cheap Trick, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Kiss, ZZ Top, and Aerosmith.  They were featured on two nationally syndicated radio programs, the King Biscuit Flour Hour and Rockline. The power trio retains legendary status after 30 years of touring and recording throughout the U.S., but nowhere more than their adopted home of Long Island, NY.  Check them out at www.TheDoor.com .

 

 

July 6th: The Belmont Park “Luck of the Irish” Experience


Live, on the Belmont Park backyard stage, The Mickey Finns and Niall O’Leary’s School of Irish Dance.  The Mickey Finns are one of New York’s greatest Celtic trios, having shared the stage with The Corrs, Black ’47, Shane MacGowan, Elvis Costello, and Van Morrison – to name a few.  Niall O’Leary, a former All-Ireland and World Champion Irish dancer will be bringing some of his most talented students to perform. July 13th: BIG SHOT TRIBUTE BAND –

The Ultimate Billy Joel Experience!

Belmont Park’s spacious backyard is the ideal setting for a perfect Memorial Day Weekend! Bring the family and enjoy live bands on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and Family Fun Day activities Sunday in the backyard from noon – 4:00 p.m. (both days). Monday, May 28th also features great graded stakes action with FOUR Graded stakes races – the Metropolitan Mile Handicap (GI), Ogden Phipps Handicap (G1), the Acorn (G1), the Sands Point (G2), and other exciting races. It’s a celebration not to be missed!



Join Two Legends of Racing and get an Autographed Post Card! Saturday, May 26th
Meet two legends of Thoroughbred Racing and the greatest Triple Crown showdown in history. Hall of Famers Steve Cauthen and Jorge Velasquez will be signing postcards, in the Clubhouse, commemorating the 1978 Triple Crown; when Affirmed and Alydar battled their way to the finish line. Looking for an affordable, nearby place to spend with your kids on a Sunday afternoon? Make our backyard your backyard with Belmont Park Family Fun Days Sundays! The backyard and picnic area come alive with a variety of fun and exciting activities and games that the entire family can enjoy. Every Sunday features karaoke, a petting zoo, face painters, and giant inflatables. We also have special, themed activities scheduled for each week, as follows:

Breakfast at Belmont Park


One of the most popular programs that we run is Breakfast at Belmont Park! Get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of thoroughbred racing, including guided tram tours of Belmont’s historic stable area, trackside commentary of live morning workouts, paddock show, and starting gate demonstrations!
 
Breakfast at Belmont Park is open to the public on weekends and holidays during the Belmont Spring/Summer Meet (April 28th– July 15th), with the following exceptions: There will be no Breakfast program on Saturday, June 9th, and Sunday, June 10th and there will be no tram tour on Monday, May 28th, Saturday, July 14th and Sunday, July 15th.

Admission to and activities for Breakfast at Belmont Park are free, and an optional breakfast may be purchased at the Belmont Café.  Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

    Belmont Park Handicapping Challenge

    The annual Belmont Park Summer Handicapping Challenge will be held on Saturday, June 23rd& Sunday, June 24th. The top three finishers in the contest will gain entry to the NTRA/Daily Racing Form National Handicapping Championship, which is scheduled to take place next January in Las Vegas, NV. There are also great cash prizes for the top 20 finishers and the highest overall bankroll after days one and two. Contest slots are limited, so make sure to send in your application soon!
